These are some of the things I know about my grand-dad.
He never liked the word “um”
He wore a brown leather jersey
His hair was like white feathers
He always waited for the mail cart
He always used to sit in the paddock with his friends and read the mail from home
He sat on the wings of his plane and would wave
What I wanted to know.
If he got scared to fly his plane
Who he thought about in his dreams
If he would look down at his polished boots or look at us standing waiting for his name to be called all warm out bed
How he felt when he lost his friends
If I was in war I would fight for abit then run away if I could. I would be kind of scared but I would want to fight to help my team. I would miss my family heaps. If there was to be a big killing spree at school I would grab some of my friends and try make a plan to fight back, but if half of our school was already dead I would tell my bro’s “thats us boys, we out!”.
Wonder what would have happened if my ancestors didn’t fight for us to live? I am very proud of that they did fight for us.
